IT'S ALL GOOD.

Do you ever have one of those days... where everything is exactly right? After 2 days of rain in L.A., Sunday was all blue skies, fluffy white clouds and snow capped mountains. When the domestic partner suggested we finally try Good Girl Dinette for lunch, I was good to go.

The Good Girl Dinette
As usual, I am behind the times. Good Girl Dinette was on Johnathan Golds 99 essential L.A. restaurants for 2010 and friends had been telling us about this place for months. The concept, American diner meets Vietnamese comfort food. The setting, mid-century simplicity. The location, Ave. 56 in Highland Park.

We both ordered the Grandma's Pho. A huge bowl of "rice noodles and chicken breast in aromatic chicken broth, served with herbs". And Vietnamese style coffee. You can never go wrong if condensed milk is involved. The perfect Sunday afternoon lunch.

Owner, Chef and Good Girl, Diep Tran.
