NO, IT ISN'T JUST LIKE TUSCANY!

One of my guidelines when I started this blog was to avoid being overly critical or negative on any given subject (Close friends can get a good laugh reading that). When I saw  this on L.A. Curbed  I decided to allow myself one good rant. Here goes.

This is what evil looks like.
I detest the Faux Mediterranean "Style" that is so prevalent in Los Angeles but thankfully seems to be losing popularity. Be it a large multi-unit complex or the single family homes that rise up two and three stories, like egregious wrought iron-trimmed-tumors in an otherwise gorgeous neighborhood of classic Spanish style bungalows, I hate them all. The one at Hyperion and Lyric is a flesh colored nightmare that causes my skin to crawl every time I pass. Without a doubt these buildings will be labeled eyesores within a generation and destroyed but for now we all have to suffer them.

  1. Spoken like a true architect; now you sense our pain. But you don't have to wait a generation to have them labeled as eyesores...they already are!

  2. It should, more correctly, be called Andalusian Style, that from my Moroccan friends.
